A friend sent a copy of Molly Bang's study of the psychology of visual composition. It's a quick blast of insight: Picture This: How Pictures Work.

Fun stuff, Steve! I especially enjoyed the first several Little Red Riding Hood examples. An interesting theory to how we view pictures ... it touched on some of the principals I learned in art: balance, emphasis and proportion ... but didn't discuss how rhythm (or repetition) affects us.
